OWSD AEFUNAI in collaboration with Ebonyi State Ministry of Health and Female Genital Schistosomiasis Society of Nigeria marked World  NTDs Day.

The Director of Public health in the person of Dr. Ebenyi opened the ceremony with great remarks about Neglected Tropical Diseases. Ebonyi State NTDs Coordinator also used his office and unit to highlight all national control and elimination roadmaps being used for the elimination of NTDs. The Coordinator of the Organization of Women in Science for the Developing World Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-alike Ebonyi State and Female Genital Schistosomiasis explained the need for women to go for a proper check on their bodies for female genital schistosomiasis. She emphasized that women have a great role to play in creating awareness about NTDs. Road walk, shows, radio commentary, and public awareness was carried out to celebrate world NTDs day.
