Johana Cabrera, PhD, and Isabel Cruz, MSc, members of the Honduras chapter, have published groundbreaking research in the journal Frontiers in Political Science. Their paper entitled “Crossing digital borders: technology in the migration process across the United States, Mexico, Honduras, and Chile” analyzes how technological tools impact migration processes, from their use for control and management, to their potential to promote social inclusion.
This study not only highlights the technological gaps between countries, but also the risks of exclusion and surveillance faced by migrants. It also calls for the design of responsible technologies that respect human rights and promote fairer and more inclusive policies. This achievement not only highlights Honduran talent in global science, but also inspires new generations of researchers committed to sustainable development and social equity.
