Antioxidant activities of African leafy vegetables and their effects on health: oxidative stress is known to be an underlying factor in a number of lifestyle diseases such as cancers and cardiovascular diseases. Dietary antioxidants protect against free radicals in the human body. African leafy vegetables contain antioxidant activity, and may therefore reduce or manage these diseases in communities that consume these vegetables.
