Current Research Activities

Medical and Health Sciences incl Neurosciences

Post-doctoral research fellow interested in the study of brain systems that underpin cognitive and behavioral changes in pre-dementia stages. I currently investigate neurocognitive markers of subjective cognitive decline, based on functional and structural connectivity analyses.

Research Keywords:
aging
resting-state fMRI
brain connectivity
neuropsychology
cognitive neuroscience

Can the alertness training ALERT (CogniPlus) improve visual processing speed in healthy older adults? This is the question researched in this study. In addition, it was investigated whether the training gain can be predicted. In summary, the results suggest that alertness training improves visual processing in older adults and that functional connectivity in the cingulo-opercular network is a neural marker for predicting individual training gains.
