Medical and Health Sciences incl Neurosciences

1.Enzyme reaction mechanisms, dynamics and inhibition for the design of potential novel therapeutic inhibitors for infectious diseases such as HIV, COVID-19, TB and Malaria as well as non-communicable diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and cancer. 2.Molecular QM/MM/MD simulation of the biomolecules and study on ligand-receptor interactions to synthesize novel drugs.

Research Scientist -Conduct computational life sciences research in fields such as drug discovery, bioinformatics and pharmacogenomics -Create and foster collaborations with research institutes and universities -Assist researchers with their respective research projects-conceptualization, running simulations, data analysis -Train university students and researchers on use of high-performance computing for different research areas particularly drug discovery, pharmacogenomics and bioinformatics - Communication of research findings at scientific workshops and conferences - Preparation of manuscripts for publication in journals ZimYas Mentor -Mentoring High-School and tertiary students in their scientific endevours
