The research is multidisciplinary - being conducted at the molecular (transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics), biochemical level,ultrastructural and physiological to the whole plant ecophysiological level. At the applied front, genes identified from these studies are used to bioengineer crops for drought tolerance
