designing nanomaterials for environmental and health applications. This includes the utilization of local agricultural by-products for wastewater purification, energy and diabetes therapy. The latter has been expanded to identify bioactive compounds that are responsible for the performances exhibited by the developed materials. Engineering systems to reduce organic contamination including photocatalytic processes, homogeneous photocatalysis (photo-Fenton) and catalytic oxidation were also investigated to elucidate fundamental kinetic and mechanistic study.
